What Is Reiki Therapy?

Originating from Japan, Reiki is based on the principle that life force energy flows through all living beings.

When this energy becomes blocked or imbalanced, it can manifest as physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual discomfort. Reiki works by restoring the natural flow of energy, allowing the body to heal and rejuvenate itself.

During a Reiki session, I channel universal life force energy to the client. The client remains fully clothed and lies comfortably on a treatment table while I place my hands lightly on or slightly above different energy centres of the body. The energy flows through my hands, promoting deep relaxation, stress reduction, and an overall sense of well-being.

Clients often describe the experience as deeply calming, soothing, and rejuvenating. The gentle touch and the subtle yet profound energy help to release physical tension, emotional blockages, and energetic imbalances. This can lead to improved physical health, mental clarity, emotional balance, and a greater connection to one's inner self. Reiki is a holistic therapy that can complement traditional medical treatments and other alternative healing practices.

Online & Distance Appointments Energy healing works just as well over distance!

If attending in-person is not convenient, you can book an online session instead! It’s also possible to request a healing for yourself or someone else who cannot attend.

For babies and children or those who are sedated or non-compos mentis, the healing is conducted and sent in absentia with the consent of their higher consciousness.

Just 10 of the myriad ways Energy Therapy can support you:
  • Hydration: Drink plenty of water following your session to help facilitate the flow of energy and promote detoxification.
  • Rest and Relaxation: Allow yourself some downtime after the session to integrate the healing energies. Engage in activities that promote relaxation and rest, such as taking a gentle walk in nature, meditating, or enjoying a warm bath.

  • Self-Reflection: Take a few moments to reflect on any insights or experiences that arose during the session. Journaling or simply quiet contemplation can help you process and integrate the healing energies on a deeper level.
  • Gentle Movement: Engage in gentle movement or stretching exercises to help keep the energy flowing smoothly throughout your body. This can include practices like yoga, tai chi, or gentle stretching.
  • Self-Care Practices: Engage in self-care activities that nourish your body, mind, and spirit. This can include practicing self-love and self-compassion, engaging in activities that bring you joy, or spending time in nature.
  • Grounding: Spend time connecting with the earth to ground and anchor the healing energies. Walking barefoot on grass or soil, gardening, or simply sitting with your feet on the ground can help establish a sense of stability and balance.
  • Pay Attention to Your Body: Tune in to your body and notice any subtle shifts or changes that may occur in the days following the session. Honour any signals or messages your body may be sending you and respond accordingly.

  • Follow-Up Sessions: Consider scheduling regular follow-up sessions to maintain the benefits of energy therapy. Consistency can help reinforce the positive effects and support your ongoing well-being.
